At Region 10, our Certification Program offers a comprehensive approach to developing dynamic leaders. Through rigorous coursework, meaningful collaboration, and hands-on capstone projects, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you learn in real-world contexts. Our program is designed to help you build the capacity needed to lead with confidence, competence, and vision.
Summer Institute
Intensive 5-Week Program tailored for candidates to provide a comprehensive experience focused on mastery of the leadership standards.
Comprehensive Coverage of Principal Standards
Dive deep into all principal standards, ensuring a robust understanding of leadership expectations in education.
Focus on instructional leadership, vision, operational management, culture, leading learning, and community engagement.
Experiential Learning Activities
Engage in simulations and case studies that mirror real-world challenges.
Develop critical problem-solving and decision-making skills in authentic scenarios.
Hands-On Engagement
Participate in collaborative projects, role-playing exercises, and strategy-building workshops.

Intensive 5-Week Schedule
Held during June and July, this focused program ensures in-depth exploration without distractions.
Prepare for the demands of principalship in a structured, high-impact learning environment.
Participants are eligible for hire after completing online coursework, live classes, TExES examination preparation, and passing the TExES examination #268 for Principal as Instructional Leader and ETS #368 Performance Assessment for School Leaders (PASL) .

Capstone Sessions are typically held on the 1st Saturday of the month (August - May). Adjustments are made for holidays. Details provided during the Summer Institute for candidates.

160 Hours of Practical Experience

Leadership Log
Maintain a detailed log of your activities, accomplishments, and reflections to track your growth and progress.

Reflection Papers
Complete reflective writing assignments to analyze your experiences, challenges, and successes.
Develop insights that help refine your leadership approach and decision-making skills.
Site Supervisor and Field Supervisor Input
Receive valuable feedback from your site supervisor, a seasoned educational leader, to guide your development.
Collaborate with your supervisor to identify areas for growth and celebrate achievements.
Formal and Informal Observations
Participate in three formal observations where experienced evaluators assess your leadership performance.
Benefit from informal observations that provide real-time, constructive feedback to enhance your skills.
Ongoing Coaching
Work with dedicated coaches who provide personalized support throughout your practicum experience.
