Since 1992, the Region 10 Certification Program has been a state-accredited, progressive, and flexible pathway for individuals with at least a bachelor’s degree to achieve Texas teacher certification.

Our program combines rigorous coursework with field-based experiences to prepare candidates for success as effective, impactful educators. Region 10's strong reputation for producing exceptional teachers gives our participants a distinct advantage in the alternative certification market.

Choose the coursework option to certification that best meets your needs.

  • Option 1 - All online coursework delivery

  • Option 2 - A blended coursework delivery, approximately 80% online 20% face-to-face

With either option, our program is a recognized leader that is passionate about preparing and supporting beginning educators throughout the certification process.

Certification Overview

Certification Overview: Step one apply, (2.5 GPA, 12-15 semester hours in content area sought or TX PACT).  Step two train (50 hours of classroom observation, 150 clock hours of training, pass content exams), Step three teach (paid internship or non-paid clinical teaching, complete coursework, pass PPR exam), Step four certified (All program requirements complete successfully)

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Notification Timeline
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance approximately two weeks after all application materials are submitted and reviewed. Applicants begin their first course after payment of the acceptance fee.
