Each board member shall receive additional continuing education on an annual basis in fulfillment of assessed needs and based on the framework for governance leadership.

In a board member's first year of service, he or she shall receive at least ten hours of continuing education in fulfillment of assessed needs.

Following a board member's first year of service, he or she shall receive at least five hours of continuing education annually in fulfillment of assessed needs.
Framework for School Board Development - Saturday Training
Each year, the Region 10 ESC will offer a training event on a variety of topics that will allow trustees to gain up to six hours of additional training. The sessions at this event will be offered by R10 board trainers and guest presenters. This is an excellent opportunity for board members to network while receiving their required credit and meet their training requirements prior to May elections. This event is offered as part of the administrative services package and lunch will be provided. Trustees in districts that have NOT purchased the administrative will be charged for attendance.
