Currently certified teachers, register for and pass the TExES English as a Second Language Supplemental test #154. Once you have passed the test, it must be added to your SBEC certification before you are officially certified. This will add an ESL certification to all levels/contents you are already certified to teach.
If you are not a certified teacher, talk with the institution through which you are working toward certification to ascertain the appropriate route by which to obtain your ESL certification.
