All titles are available to members of the Region 10 Professional Development and Services Cooperative.
Book Studies on Instructional Strategies
For this fee-based service, a member of the Region 10 Content Areas Team will facilitate a book study and recommend resources (e.g. books, online resources, etc.) for campus leadership teams and teacher teams to study. The book studies can be facilitated face-to-face or online. A Region 10 consultant will work with the campus administrator(s) to select an appropriate book. A minimum of 2 full days in partial settings for teacher interaction is required. Cost: $1,200 per book study (does not include the cost of the books).
Coaching in the Content Areas
This fee-based service includes an initial set of observations and data analysis in order to focus in on areas or teachers of need: Who needs to change? What needs to change? (minimum 1-2 days of data gathering and analysis). Upon negotiations with the campus leadership, a group of teachers will be selected for coaching for the purpose of "shrinking the change." Whole departments in larger schools would not be eligible for coaching. After needs and audience are addressed, a coaching plan will be established for the campus (minimum 5-7 days of coaching). Consultants are available to work with ELAR, Math, Science and/or Social Studies teachers. Cost: minimum of 6/maximum of 10 days @ $750 per day per consultant/content area.
Examining Student Work in the Content Areas: Math, Science, Social Studies
This fee-based service consists of a member of the Region 10 Literacy Team meeting with teachers during their PLC or other planning time to review student open-ended works, such as writing samples, project products, student journals, etc. Teachers will learn to do the following: apply rubrics when evaluating student work, analyze for the “why” a student earned a particular score on an assessment, pose questions to ask when analyzing student work, and interpret data gathered from examining student work to improve instruction in the classroom. Cost: minimum of 2 days/maximum of 5 days @ $750 per day per consultant/content area.
Facilitated Curriculum or Lesson Planning in the Content Areas
For this fee-based service, a member of the Region 10 Content Areas Team (math, science and/or social studies) will meet with district/campus representatives to decide upon or learn the lesson planning and curriculum of the district. Emphasis will be placed on whether a campus has the liberty to make changes to the district scope and sequence. Once everyone is of like mind, a content area specialist will lead teachers in one of the following:

using data to review the scope and sequence in light of low performing objectives, determining where additional coverage of objectives should be incorporated by adjusting the scope and sequence;

assisting in understanding new curriculum documents such as TEKS Resource System substituted for former curriculum documents; or
-
using the scope and sequence (no matter what the origin) to facilitate the writing of lessons by the teachers that are aligned to the curriculum and include the focus elements of the needs assessment (e.g., engagement, rigor, vocabulary, etc.).
Cost: minimum of 6/maximum of 8 days @ $750 per day per consultant/content area.

Customized Consultations in Mathematics
Individual districts or campuses may request a personalized consultation in the area of mathematics. Consultations might include tailored services such as facilitated revisions of curriculum, instruction, and/or assessment per state initiatives or mandates, planning for future professional development, problem solving, or addressing other needs identified by the campus or district. Region 10 Consultants are eager to lend their expertise through the most useful approach possible.
Demonstration Lessons in Mathematics
Demonstration lessons, complete with a debriefing session, are available upon request for identified campuses in state and federal accountability systems. These lessons presented by Region 10 consultants are designed as powerful models of effective mathematics instruction. Instructional leaders may request from a predetermined list of research-based lessons for impacting instruction.

Integrating Instructional Technology in the Math Classroom NEW
Get the most out of your campus and classroom technology! Have a Region 10 mathematics
consultant work with campus teachers to effectively use existing and free technology to enhance
mathematics classroom instruction and increase student engagement. From calculators to
BYOD, Web 2.0, Flipped Classroom, Blended Learning, student response systems and
interactive white boards, etc., we can help you integrate what makes sense to support student
performance. Cost: minimum of 2 days/maximum of 5 days @ $750 per day.
Intervention for STAAR Success
This service will allow campus administrators, curriculum directors, coaches, and teachers to
plan an individualized student intervention program. Data will be analyzed, district/campus
resources will be listed, additional appropriate resources will be examined, and students will be matched to interventions. Progress monitoring and baseline knowledge will be an integral part of the intervention program.
Math Program Audit
A math consultant will come to your campus and inventory your math manipulatives and
technology. Based on your campus needs, recommendations are made for purchases to fill in
gaps, or suggest training for teachers in their effective use. Cost: minimum of 2 days/maximum of 5 days @ $750 per day.

Personalized Planning for New TEKS
A math consultant can come to your district and facilitate planning for the implementation of the new math TEKS. This can be one-on-one with the district administrator or with teams of
teachers from the campuses. Cost: minimum of 2/maximum of 8 days @ $750 per day.
PLC Facilitation
Region 10 Mathematics consultants are available to facilitate a professional learning community, including strategies for: buy-in from members, shared leadership, setting goals, structuring purposeful sessions, and communication among members. Cost: minimum of 6/maximum of 8 days @ $750 per day.
Power Planning Period
This service will allow campus administrators to embed professional development into the existing daily schedule. Administrators can choose from a variety of topics to extend teachers' learning and still fit into a 45-minute planning period.
