This beginner session will walk you through how to protect your circulating collection and make some of the most common repairs.

Small Changes, Big Impact: Analyzing lists and collections with TeachingBooks
February 15, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (VIRTUAL)
Join this hands-on session to learn how to use the TexQuest -provided TeachingBooks tool to consider diversity, genres, and the just-right books for your students. Examine the titles in collections and immediately receive a report revealing the cultural areas, genres, word count, reading levels, and more! You can also gain impactful insight into the titles you choose for displays, lessons, storytimes, and even faceout books. Then, explore collections of dynamic audio and video resources that you can promote to teachers, students, families... anyone -- that deepens readers' connections to these titles. Attendees will leave this workshop ready to use these tools to examine your collections for instructional, personal, and cultural needs.
If possible, bring a spreadsheet or listing of the books in various collections, reading programs, or classrooms.

TexQuest: Let's Travel with Learn360!
March 28, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Virtual)
Everyone is ready to travel again! Students learn geography, math, science, history and other subjects as they use Learn360 to become a travel expert. They can plan a trip, mapping out their route, research places, and make a travel plan using engaging resources in Learn360. This fun and engaging session will show you a unique way to do cross-curricular project based learning using Learn360 videos, interactives and printable resources.

North Texas Teen Book Festival Teacher/Educator Day- Books, Books, Books: A Symposium for Educators @NTTBF 2024
April 26, 2024 Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Irving Convention Center
This festival will feature amazing authors and guests who will share the best new books for readers and focus on practical and exciting ways to engage young readers from upper elementary through high school. Join Sam Houston State University College of Education Library Science faculty as they welcome very special guests Lois Lowry, Laurie Halse Anderson, Jerry Craft, Ruta Sepetys, John Shu, and more than three dozen MG and YA authors to North Texas!
This is an all day event (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) and will take place at the Irving Convention Center. We ask that educators do not bring children to Educator Day. NTTBF provides a free, all-day festival on Saturday, April 27th for readers of all ages.
(Parking is $12.00 both days at the Irving Convention Center.)
*This session is being facilitated by the North Texas Teen Book Festival team, and ESC Regions 10 and 11 are providing support and attendance confirmation.
