Region 10's Certification (CERT) Program for Educational Diagnosticians requires the following.

A Master's Degree from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.0

3 years of teaching experience as a certified teacher

Special Education certification.
Educational Diagnostician cohort numbers are limited and are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

**Since you are certified and applying for the Educational Diagnostician Program, choose "Educational Diagnostician" on the Certification Request section of the application. Please do not choose Special Education or any other certification area.**
Preliminary Criminal History Evaluation
If you were previously charged with a crime, you may have questions about your eligibility for a Texas educator certificate. A Preliminary Criminal History Evaluation is an evaluation of eligibility for a Texas educator certificate based on your self-reported criminal history. As a service to prospective candidates, TEA staff may perform an evaluation for a non-refundable fee of $50. The evaluation is voluntary and non-binding. Additional information can be found on the TEA website.
Submit the following:

Nomination form from District Special Education Director or designee
(to download the form click the blue button above) -
Service Records documenting at least 3 years teaching experience

Official bachelor's and master’s transcripts (minimum of 3.0 GPA on master's degree)

Must have official transcripts for all degrees earned. (e-scripts are acceptable - must be e-mailed directly to amy.lambert@region10.org.) Copies of transcripts are not acceptable.

Alternative certification coursework and hours (if applicable)

Transcripts and service records will be used to determine eligibility for credit of pre-requisites (Intro to Exceptional Children, Methods and Strategies for Students with Disabilities, Human Growth and Development, Foundations of Reading) and regular coursework.
