The Public Funds Investment Act (PFIA) governs the investment of government funds in Texas. Under this law, specific parameters are set for Texas districts, requiring them to adopt an investment policy and to designate an investment officer who is required to attend an approved training course. The investment officer (superintendent and/or the CFO; CDA LOCAL) must:

Attend at least one training session, ten hours in length, within 12 months after attaining their position and

Must take eight hours of instruction every two years after the initial training session
This workshop will meet the training requirements under state law and is designed for beginners and professionals.
This is a two-day event: you must register for both days.
Cost is free if your District/Charter elected to purchase the Administrative Services Package, if not the cost is $200 per person per day.
Session Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break (a box lunch will be provided each day)

If you only need the 8 hour refresher then you will leave an hour early each day.

If your district is only investing in banks then you only need to take the initial training but no other trainings are required after the initial training.
