Candidates
Upon receipt of your acceptance letter, you are ready to begin the Candidate phase of the TPC Program. Your next step is to read and acknowledge the Program Agreement, pay your acceptance fee, register and complete the online Program Orientation, Part 1. You will receive information regarding the tuition fee payment(s) at Program Orientation, Part 2. |

Field-Based ExperienceAll teacher candidates must complete 30 hours of field-based experience and are encouraged to complete these hours soon after TPC Program acceptance. Field-based experience is defined as observations and interaction in the performance of professional educator activities with early childhood through grade 12 students, teachers, and faculty/staff members in a school setting that is part of classroom instruction.
CurriculumThe curriculum has been carefully planned to address the State Standards, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, state tests, and best practices. Candidates should successfully complete designated coursework requirements, including online courses, within 18 months of candidate orientation. In addition, candidates must initiate an internship/clinical teaching experience within three years of attendance of candidate orientation. If coursework is not current (past 18 months old), an Individual Certification Plan (ICP) will be provided. There may be additional fees to update and/or add coursework.

Reactivation Request Form - if your status is "Withdrawn" with the program, you will need to submit this form with the appropriate fee. Your request does not ensure re-activation. Once processed, you will be contacted regarding your re-activation status and/or next steps.
Add/Change Certification Area Form - if you wish to add or change certification areas, you will need to submit this form with the appropriate fee.
