Information for Parents of Children with Special Needs

 

This program provides technical assistance and support to local districts/SSAs and parents by:

 

  • Identifying and disseminating information about best practices at the local, regional, state, and national levels
  • Researching and disseminating information and literature about innovative parent involvement programs to districts within the region
  • Serving as first point of contact for requests for information and assistance from district personnel and parents
  • Providing assistance in resolving parent issues upon receipt of a request from a parent or the Special Education Director for the district/SSA in which the parent and student reside
  • Providing referral assistance for parents and students who have unique needs that are outside the domain of the local district/SSA
  • Responding to requests for technical assistance from local districts
  • Coordinating with the other 19 ESCs in the area of parent involvement

 

This assistance and support (available at no cost to districts/SSAs and parents) may be obtained by contacting the consultant by telephone, fax, email, or written correspondence.
